CamaroCon Drag Racing presented by Red Barn Racing is here! Looking to bring your car out to run the ¼ mile or grudge race with a friend? How about wanting to compete for trophies and bragging rights? The LVMS team will be on hand to fully prep the track and run the event.

Drag Racing Is Open to All vehicle types. Only Camaro's or Firebirds can compete for trophies.

Non-Camaro & Firebirds: You will need to register as a Test & Tune/ Open Racing. Your vehicles will be able to run during those times. Overall we expect you to have 5-7+ run opportunities per day, pending oil downs or issues.

We will work with the same classes our friends at CamaroFest run.

What the 1 Day Pass Offers: (1 Person entry)

  • Pass to race your car in the CamaroCon Drags for either Saturday or Sunday (Car must meet NHRA guidelines)
  • Access to an Drag Racing pit zone large enough for a truck, trailer and tent for the day you select to race
  • Sufficient early access to be able to setup and prep your vehicles

What the 2 Day Pass Offers(1 Person entry)

  • Pass to race your car in the CamaroCon Drags for both Saturday & Sunday (Car must meet NHRA guidelines)
  • Access to an Drag Racing pit zone large enough for a truck, trailer and tent for the day you select to race
  • Sufficient early access to be able to setup and prep your vehicles
  • Access to CamaroCon Drag Racing qualifiers for trophies (each driver will get 2 qualifying passes to lock in class racing, Trophies only available for Camaros & Firebirds)

Drivers who want to compete for trophies will need own a Camaro or Firebird and buy a 2 day pass and be in attendance on Saturday & Sunday.

    RULES:

    All vehicles and drivers with their personal safety gear must conform to the most up to date version of the NHRA rules for specific ¼ mile times for the vehicle(s) the driver is driving on the track with. Please review the most up to date version of the NHRA Rulebook online for information. If your car doesn’t meet the guidelines you will not be permitted to race and will not be given a refund. Special note: For safety and NHRA license purposes you will not be permitted to make a pass and let off your gas pedal or break before the traps. Make passes at speeds and times below your approved setup, you will be kicked off the track. No second chances.

    Top Line Notes:

    1. Yes you need a helmet (details below) The driver must wear long pants, closed toe shoes, and a shirt. 
    2. Stock Camaro with all factory safety restraints and air bags can run a 9.99 (1/4 mile 135mph) or 6.35 (1/8 mile) 
    3. If you have a aftermarket power adder (non-OEM nitrous oxide, turbochargers or superchargers) You will need a fire jacket. 
    4. If your car is built beyond factory spec on a slick follow the guidelines below.
    5. If you have a convertible, see below rules. 

    Street Cars

    The following items are required for a vehicle and driver to pass tech: Good tires, a solid battery hold down, radiator overflow reservoir, functioning neutral-safety switch, seat belts, and a valid state driver's license or NHRA competition license for all participants. The driver must wear long pants, closed toe shoes, and a shirt. 

    13.99 seconds (8.59 1/8th)

    • Drive Line Loop with slicks (If you’re on a slick a drive shaft loop is required)
    • Approved helmet (Full face in open cars), see below
    • SFI 3.2A/1 Jacket in vehicles equipped with non-OEM nitrous oxide, turbochargers or superchargers

     License

    • Drivers 16 and 17 years of age must have a valid waiver signed by both parents to participate as a driver or passenger.
    • Virtually anyone can compete in drag racing. Drivers 18 years of age and over are required to have Valid
    • State Driver License, and must be capable of the safe operation of their vehicle.
    • Vehicles running 6.39 E.T. (Elapsed Time) and quicker require a NHRA Competition License and the chassis must have a current NHRA Chassis Certification. 

    Auto Trans Reverse Lockout

    • Any non-OEM (ie aftermarket) automatic floor-mounted transmission shifter must be equipped with a spring-loaded, positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put in reverse gear. A functional neutral safety switch is also required. 

    Roll Bars

    • Unless otherwise required by your class, 6-point roll bars are required on convertibles running quicker than 8.25. Roll Bar required on all cars (including T-tops) running quicker than 7.35.

    Roll Cages

    • Roll Cages required on convertibles running 6.99 or faster than 135mph. Roll Cages required on all cars running 6.99* or faster than 135mph.
    • *One exception: full-bodied cars running between 6.40 and 6.99, with unaltered firewalls, floor and body (from firewall rearward - wheel tubes permitted) can compete with just a roll bar.
    • Vehicles running 6.39 E.T. (Elapsed Time) and quicker require a NHRA Competition License and the chassis must have a current NHRA Chassis Certification.

    Helmets

    • Drivers of all 8.59 (1/8 mile) or quicker cars, including motorcycles, must wear a helmet meeting Snell or SFI Specifications. 
    • Full-face helmet mandatory on all cars 9.99 (1/4 mile)/6.39 (1/8 mile) or quicker. See individual Class Requirements for additional requirements, such as Stock Eliminator. Shield mandatory 7.49 (1/4 mile) and quicker. Drivers of NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and E.T. cars (13.99 or quicker) (*8.59) must use a helmet meeting Snell SA2010, M2010, or SFI 31.1/2010, or 41.1/2010 Specs. Drivers in supercharged, front engine, open-bodied cars and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2010, SAH2010, or SFI 31.1/2005.
